We need to work towards communicating more honestly with each other. Too many people don't even want to have conversations or arguments, that work towards a common solution. More often it starts with "which side are you on?" and then a rift from then on. We forget that we can be on opposing sides, but still be working toward a common goal. We don't always have to agree. Sometimes, the beauty is in our disagreements. But we should always be willing to talk.

the part where he says it seems like u pick ur team and defend it no matter what is a something i agree that is happening. i always try to look at both sides best i can and when talking to a trump supporter i always try to start by steel manning their side. i say something that i agree with that their side did before listing what i think they did wrong. it helps cool temps right off and they dont see u as their enemy so much and in turn they tend to actualy listen to what u r saying. other wise u come at them hard right off and they shut u down in their heads right off and heard nothing u said.i believe we need a third party in this country that puts a candidate up each time that has a chance not just leaving us with only 2 options so we have to decide of the lesser evils some times. also a 2 party system will always lead to dead lock. as time passes the start may be half middle the other half split left and right. over time less are in the middle till one day u have what is happening. the right is so far right they would sell the mother before voting for something from the left and the left is so far left they do the same. nothing ever gets passed except the party with majority. if it was 50/50 with no tie breaker no bills would ever pass. dead lock. we need that third party for perpective and also to throw the tie off and balance things .

“Are things getting better? Yes.” Well, dude, you have to ask yourself, are we getting better in where it TRULY matters?? Sure, you could say that in terms of technology and industry, we’re undisputed. However, scientists and philosophers agree that we’re in the same mental state as we we’re hundreds to even thousands of years ago. ‘We may have evolved, but deep down, we are still animals.’ Having self driving cars, even flying cars, isn’t gonna prevent bad seeds like those in trumps cult from turning back the clock and dragging us all into dark times as they’ve done these past four years. It’s gotten to the point where the only thing that has changed from the 1800’s to now is that we have touch screens. The best way we as a species can achieve the best form unison is by improving upon our way of thinking rather than just the things we build

To be honest, your country is still responsible for millions being impoverished, mass murder and denied basic human rights so your so called institutions have merely replaced other pretexts for violence. The US empire has been committing crimes against humanity in foreign countries for decades in the name of democracy and until Americans reject and vehemently oppose it by putting an end to it, the degradation of American moral fabric of society will only keep escalating. It's unfortunate that many progressives also lose their progressive ideals when it comes to millions of victims of the American empire worldwide.

This Jonah Goldberg is very ignorant of human history, capitalism, what makes people prosperous, and what causes conflict. many paleolithic tech level cultures, even those who lived in solation until relatively modern times, are far less violent and oppressive than more organized and technologically advanced societies. Art, music, cooperation, social structures that promote human dignity and life have existed in tribal societies, monarchies, semi oligarchies et al. the increasing prosperity levels of cultures often had NOTHING to do with forms of government than they did technology. For example monarchies, oligarcies, democracies, tribal federations and communist societies can improve prosperity by introducing irrigation. Irrigation makes any society richer. He ignores the fact that the Americans had natural and mneral resources that were depleted by thousands of years of organized mining and logging and most of that land hadn't even been subjected to agriculture. that stolen land, combined with modern technology and slave labor had a huge part in making American wealthy. plunder and conquest can have great influxes of wealth to societies Vikings and Mongols got richer via exploiting people they raided and conquered, yet didn't change their governments. Same with Monarchies Like Britain, where society as a whole brought in wealth from colonies (conquered and exploited people) while retaining a monarchy. China went from being an agricultural nation to being a space faring nation, and they are still very communist. Venezuala and Bolivia are very socialist, yet Bolivia is much more wealthy. He also forgets that capitalism tends to have a predatory, vampiric relationship with other countries, races and even lower socieconomic groups in countries it lives in. he also forgets capitalism was born in, thrived in and spread via Monarchies not Democracies. Capitalism often uses it's economic power to suborn and negate democratic processes. Jonah Goldberg's argument, and his "History" is misleading and intellectually dishonest.

  • Mou Bhattacharyya
    Mou Bhattacharyya7 dögum síðan

And also if you claim and brag you have a place which is Michelin star good, there is no point asking people not to come n be there. The capitalist philosophy is to go and get the best for me first without thinking about others who are below me and also others whom I have to compete with. So a capitalist society has no reason n right to tell ppl to not to go for the best. It is violating the core of the very C way. And US is the best. I mean you already said so.

I'm not saying you have to call out every sentence, yes you are doing the job of an interviewer but, wen he goes back to the Vikings as a reference of time and juxtapose civilization like that, he doesn't even mention the birth place of humanity, he's disingenuous, then talks about the poverty the world experienced mentions Africa not admitting her wealth, it's just stranger. He does not mention embassies in Europe being the richest in the world during Arab and Moore rule, strikes me as someone who can't let go of his title of conquering Invader, and that the founding ideals of America are at good or just

Most people yell at the TV. I guess it makes us feel better. POLITICIANS are the most yelled at,so researchers say. Injustice makes most of us mad-white police beating defenseless blacks; blacks beating innocent whites. Asians make some blacks mad. Some blacks make Asians mad. Some Hispanics detest blacks and whites. Some blacks hate other blacks; some whites hate whites and blacks. Arsonists of any color make me fume. The whole unjust system makes most of us mad. God knows how enraged we are! He’s not too happy about it Himself. Actually, He warns that no one is going to get away with any wrongdoing. He is going to punish the “unjust”-those “acting contrary to fairness and justice.” That should please you! Speaking of the "unjust," have you ever: Lied? Hated? Lusted? Stolen anything? Had sex outside of marriage? Forget others--You're in big trouble. Put the blame where it lies. You’re guilty of breaking the Ten Commandments, the moral Law of a holy God. The Bible speaks of only two types of people, regardless of skin color: the just and the unjust. The “just” are those whom God has cleansed of sin (justified, or made right with Him). The unjust are those who are still under God’s wrath. If your sins are not forgiven, the Bible says that you are part of the unjust--and the wages of sin is death and Hell. That why YOU need the Savior, Jesus Christ. He died to make you "just"--just as if you had never sinned. Though we broke God’s Law, Jesus paid the penalty for sin by dying on the cross: “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (Jn. 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds of eyewitnesses. He fulfilled all the prophecies of the promised Savior. To be made right in God’s sight, repent and trust Jesus today, and God will forgive you and grant you the gift of eternal life (Eph. 2:8,9). Then, to show your gratitude, read the Bible daily and obey it, join a Christian church, and be baptized. If you want justice, you will have it…unless you repent. How mad is God? MAD as HELL! It will take Hell to satisfy the fury of a holy God. If you don’t trust the Savior, there will be Hell to pay…and you don’t want to be damned. God doesn’t want you to go there, so repent today (you may not have tomorrow) and put your trust in Jesus

Funny that the most slandered ideology in American politics, centrist neoconservatism is the ONLY THING that can keep liberal democracy alive from the authoritarian isolationist extremists of the left and right. Also, wonder how many illiterate nazis thought "su*cide of the west" was referring to something else? Lmao. It's actually a callback to Burnham's book of the same name that is referring not to ethno-nationalism, but rather to defend liberal democracy in a global scale from the authoritarian forces. In political talking, if you oppose their idea, it will become rude to them even you say politely because, for example, "I support abortion." to a person who does not, for this person , I am very rude. The same in art, if I say this painting is no good, a person likes the painting always says, "It is your subjective opinion." About Trump is the same. If I say, "Trump has no principal. He is a bad man." A person does not know and have principal defend him. So here goes a crowd of no principal mobs and bad art.

So many swing and misses. I didn’t hear one single legit, substantive criticism of Bernie Sanders or the Populist-Left. Just this goofy guy trying to conflate two completely different political parties completely different activist wings.
