I find this misconception in a _lot_ of media. Like, for example, my sister (technically, _half-sister)_ is descended from Chileans on her father's side. They speak Spanish, and of course, they wanted _her_ to learn Spanish, and I remember, many an hour, when she was a kid and I was babysitting her, that she and I would watch a Disney movie that _I_ knew really well, but in _Spanish,_ and for this reason, I picked up a lot of Spanish terms for things I already knew. Kids' programs aren't necessarily things like _Barney and the Backyard Gang._ Disney, over the years, has made a _lot_ of movies that are actually really good movies; the kinds of movies that have aspects that adults are going to appreciate, just restricted to younger vocabulary that makes them easier to learn. Their humor has aspects that kids won't _notice._ That's all. This helps if there's another language one is trying to learn. One can familiarize oneself with a Disney movie and then watch the movie in _that_ language, like I've been doing with _German._

The Ride was good. Good to see Luda in something other than the Fast and Furious movies.

I teach high school students Spanish in Louisiana and we've returned to school again both in person and virtual during this pandemic. I understand how parents want their children in school to not "miss out" or "fall behind," but at what cost to all of us already there? Several colleagues have already contracted the virus and students, which is not only scary but it puts all of us on a whirlwind of emotions.
